About Us

The Australian STAR Rating Scheme has been around since the 1950s when Auto Clubs from the Eastern states began rating accommodation. STAR Ratings Australia is a division of AAA Tourism, a company established in 1999 as the national tourism body of the Australian Automobile Associations – NRMA, RACV, RACQ, RACWA, RAA, RACT, AANT.

Today AAA Tourism forms part of Club Tourism, the trans-Tasman partnership between Australian Motoring Services (representing the Australian Auto Clubs) and the New Zealand Automobile Association.

Club Tourism brings together the heritage brands of AAA Tourism and STAR Ratings Australia with AA Tourism in New Zealand.

The partnership is an integrated tourism publishing and marketing business targeting more than 8.4 million members of Australian and New Zealand Automobile Clubs, as well as more than 2 million trans-Tasman leisure and business travellers.

Club Tourism produces and distributes more than 3.8 million guides and 3.5 million maps that promote over 12,000 properties, attractions and travel services throughout Australia and New Zealand.
