Houseboats are basically floating homes that are fully self-contained. They will offer you one or more bedrooms or suites and a dining area with cooking facilities. Popular with groups, families and people looking for something ‘different’, Houseboat holidays are a bit of an adventure. The level of comfort and cost will vary considerably with the size and quality of the boat on offer.

The table below provides a guide to the absolute minimum a Houseboat must offer to achieve the required STAR Rating. Many Houseboats exceed this basic description and offer other facilities and services that are not listed here. Each STAR Rating level must include all listed requirements of lower levels.

A half STAR is awarded to properties that provide a more extensive range of facilities
