Compliance and Legal Requirements
- The property holds all relevant insurances, including workers compensation and public liability to the value of $10,000,000
- The property complies with all applicable legal and regulatory obligations, including the Competition and Consumer Act, Consumer Affairs, and Occupational Health and Safety requirements
Property Standards
- The property is effectively maintained and clean for all guests at all times
- The property can provide evidence of formalised housekeeping procedures
- Guests have 24-hour ease of access to their accommodation
- All guest accommodation has lockable entry doors and secure windows
- All guest accommodation provides appropriate visual and physical privacy
Guest Information and Display
- Clear and visible signage is displayed, including the official Star Rating where applicable
Operational Requirements
- The property owner or manager has notified Star Ratings Australia of all rooms available for guest accommodation
- The property agrees to allow a physical assessment if required
- The property has a dedicated website and/or email address and accepts bookings year-round
- The property complies with the Star Ratings Scheme Code of Conduct
Inventory Requirements
- All accommodation inventory is declared and available for guest use (including temporary or short-term accommodation)
Non-Compliance
- Failure to meet entry criteria may result in suspension of the application or removal from the Star Ratings Scheme
